What is it?
EBrake is a small program that copies DVDs to files that can be watched on your computer. It does so in a highly-automated and highly-opinionated way. As such, it is *not* a replacement for programs like Handbrake if you care deeply about what you are doing.
Instead, use EBrake if you have a bunch of DVDs and you want to get them off of physical media in a form that's easy to watch on multiple players, and you have no interest in learning the deep mysteries of codecs and device support.
What does it look like?

OK, but what does it produce?
For those who care, EBrake produces:
- Matroska, containing
- An H.264 AVC video track (High Profile)
- An AC3 Audio Track, in English* if possible
- An AAC 2-channel downmix of the AC3 track (Dolby Stereo)
- If the English track is not available, an English subtitle track.
*I'm sorry, but the native language is not yet configurable. (Did I mention the project was on github?)
